At INTRAsystems we are committed to the sustainable operation and development of our business and are constantly seeking better ways to control and minimise the impact we have on our environment.

Working on key projects throughout the UK and Europe, we are familiar with all environmental ratings such as BREEAM, LEED and WELL Building standards and help clients achieve, and exceed, their sustainability goals. The INTRAsystems Environmental Policy sets clear targets for ongoing improvement to ensure the company continues to lead in our increasingly aware society.

To demonstrate our commitment, we pledge to continually improve our products, services and partnerships and to have accreditation for your ease of environmental scoring for green building certification.

As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility and commitment to the environment, we are pleased to support Plastic Oceans UK to help raise awareness of the plastic pollution issue.

The charity was founded by Jo Ruxton in 2009, after creating the film ‘A Plastic Ocean’, to raise awareness of the pollution issue. That mission became a reality in January 2017, when the film launched on a global scale. Now through Education, Science and Policy, with the support of high-profile patrons such as Ben Fogle and Julian Lennon, they are looking to change attitudes, behaviours and practices on the use and value of plastics.

Did you know that around 8 to 12 million tonnes of plastic ends up in our oceans EVERY YEAR (Plastic Oceans).

While plastic is a highly versatile and useful product, it is virtually indestructible, and production has outpaced the planets ability to deal with the waste. Scientific evidence has shown that around 8 to 12 million tonnes of plastics ends up in our oceans every year where it harms countless marine creatures.

Waste management therefore is the key to tackling this huge problem and stopping it before it even reaches our beautiful oceans. Companies like Econyl® are doing their part in recycling and repurposing their regenerated nylon back to its original purity. This can then be processed into carpet and textile yarn for the fashion and interior industries. More than 80% of our INTRAlux fibre range is now made using 100% Econyl® regenerated nylon and we continue to look at ways to reduce our plastic use and wastage.
