Crisp, clean lines
The Shard, The Walkie Talkie Building, the ‘Cheese Grater’ and The Gherkin all contribute to making London’s skyline one of the most iconic in the world.
With a further 510 tall towers (more than 20 storeys) under construction or planned to complete in the next decade, how do you make sure your building stands out?
Build a tower that’s a cut above the rest, literally!
Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox, The Scalpel at 52 Lime Street is the first building to be certified ‘Excellent’ under the 2014 BREEAM standards.
The distinctive shape that inspired its name was necessary to preserve the view of St Pauls from Fleet Street and is further reinforced by the partially reflective glass and bright metallic fold lines.
The clean crisp lines of the exterior are continued inside with the stunning double-height reception finished in a striking monochrome palette.
By installing INTRAform DM entrance matting with double width absorbent fibre inserts, the reception remains as sharp and pristine as the architect envisioned.
Combining INTRAlux Elite in black, with a contrasting grey stripe unifies the matting with the flooring beyond, ensures the entrance matting works harmoniously with the building design, greatly enhancing the reception area and gently guiding the visitor to the front desk.
INTRAform DM is made from 100% recycled aluminium, and our INTRAlux Elite fibre is made from 100% Econyl regenerated nylon, making it the perfect specification for KPF to help reduce their environmental impact and support their BREEAM status.
