    Distinctive Design for Refurbishment

    We’ve worked with Woodhouse Workspaces on several projects, including their CAT B fit-out design for The Capitol Building in Bracknell. They needed a high-performing, durable Entrance Mat that would complement their free-form modern design on raised access flooring.

    INTRAform DM was the ideal solution. Not only does it absorb dirt and moisture, but its organic lozenge shape guides visitors naturally toward the reception and corridor beyond. The tight radius curve mirrors the flowing form of the reception desk, planters, and surrounding furniture.

    Transforming First Impressions

    Woodhouse Workspaces’ fit-out team’s brief was a total refurbishment of The Capitol Building. “The internal layout lacked connectivity and circulation, overall making it unwelcoming…” In particular, the poor first impression in the tired, old and dark reception area was putting potential tenants off. The new design needed to make better use of natural light, space and enhance wellbeing.

    The 37m² Entrance Mat helps do just that. Black anodised INTRAform DM matting system paired with light grey INTRAlux fibre inserts provides a light and modern first impression. Also, the black anodised finish complements the black trim on the exterior façade, as well as the internal light fittings and furniture detailing.

    A Smooth Operator

    INTRAform’s closed construction is heel proof, DDA Compliant and smooth for wheeled traffic. It traps dirt on the surface, making daily cleaning easy and effective. This design keeps the Matting looking smart and performing year after year with a straightforward vacuum and cleaning regime.

    The double width inserts with the chosen INTRAlux Select fibre inserts provide absorption of 5L per metre. It’s a cost-effective fibre with a heavy-duty commercial wear rating of 33 despite its softer feel.

    Reducing Install Costs and Challenges

    For installers, INTRAform DM (like all INTRAsystems products) is easy to cut to the most intricate shapes – from revolving doors and fixtures to fluid design forms. The interlocking plank system clicks into place without extra wiring or fixings. You can cut it to shape with a handheld circular saw and finish with angle grinders.

    Quicker installs mean less time on site, helping to keep costs to a minimum and reduces the impact on live sites, particularly for refurbishments and fit outs. Where similar competitor products could take a full day to shape and fit, INTRAsystems take a few hours, even with revolving doors and precision shaping.
