A station upgrade
Officially opened in 1872, White Hart Lane has cemented itself as the home of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.
As part of the Northumberland Development Project to redevelop the White Hart Lane Stadium and regenerate the area, the overground station, just 3 minutes walk from the club, was also upgraded.
The upgrade consisted of a new ticketing hall, two new lifts for better access and an additional entrance to ease match day traffic.
Extreme Foot Traffic and Section 12 Regulations
With extreme foot traffic at three separate entrances, a heavy-duty solution was required to keep the newly refurbished station clean and the passengers safe. As a high-risk area, the system also had to be Section 12 compliant.
INTRAsystems worked with the client to specify INTRAform FR with a combination of specialist fire resistant inserts and Bfl-s1 rated INTRAlux Premier fibre to provide an entrance matting system that would withstand the extreme levels of foot traffic experienced on match days – and meet the strict Fire Regulations set by TfL.
The open construction system allows excess moisture to drain away, whilst the absorbent fibre inserts wick away any remaining moisture to ensure minimal transfer to the flooring beyond.
Constructed from 100% recycled aluminium the system provides exceptional durability and strength to stand up to the millions of visitors it will service during its lifetime.
